So you’re sick of plain ol’ spaghetti sauce and you’re looking to branch out. You’ve seen it a million times, that green, oily looking sauce in the jar, but what do you actually do with it?
Let’s start with the basics – in most pestos, you’ll find ingredients like basil, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, garlic, and salt. Sounds delicious, right? Right.
Next, what should you do with it?
Here, the options are pretty endless depending on your taste buds. A few great suggestions we like to give our customers are using it for pesto bread (instead of garlic bread), for pizza sauce (use sparingly), a hot OR cold pasta salad, use it as a dip, throw it in some scrambled eggs – get creative! That’s the best part about Italian cooking. It’s using some very basic ingredients but throwing them together in the same pot to make something delicious, and with a little bit of extra elbow grease, you can create something delicious to share with all your friends and family, and perhaps create a new tradition on down the line!
